Refraction
Description
A phenomenon of light to change direction at the boundary between two different media. Light travels straight in one medium, but when it hits a boundary, it gets partially reflected and partially bent, or refracted, as it enters another medium. The angle formed by the incident ray and the normal line is called the angle of incidence while the angle formed by the refracted ray and the normal line is called the angle of refraction. According to Snell's law, for two media with angle of incidence i, angle of refraction i', refractive index of first medium n, and refractive index of second medium n', there is a relation: n sin i = n' sin i'.
